No Media Center in Windows 8! – We Already Have Media Player Though

Windows being the most anticipated (& feature rich) operating system of the past two decades has been in our PCs for many many years. Now as Microsoft has announced Windows 8  we all are eagerly waiting for it. As reported by PCWorld, microsoft will not be shipping the commercial versions of windows with media center. Although it is now obvious that windows 8 is very well optimised for tablet experience so it gives us a bit sense.

No Media Center in Windows 8?

Windows media center provides us the functionality of a full fledged media experience. It easily provides our purpose of music, Videos & TV.Personally I’ve never used the media center on my windows PC but I’m sure that the removal of Windows Media Center from the next version of windows(i.e. windows 8) will count something to mnay of us. Another thing which have come up into my knowledge is that although Windows Vista & Windows  7 Come with Media Center as a free extension for the user, but for the new version of  Windows microsoft will charge us something (Price has not yet been announced).

This looks like as if Microsoft is digging in the steps of Apple, as apple charges us for many things which are freebies on an operating system as windows (like music players, cloud etc,.). Personally to me, it makes a perfect sense to remove the Media Center from Windows 8 because it is clear to all of us that it is a tablet optimized version of windows and I think that Media center won’t count on it.

I’m sure that when I upgrade to Windows 8, I will not upgrade my PC to windows Media Center because I never use it and its probably not free. But hey! wait there is no need to be disappointed because we have our beloved Windows Media Player already with us.

Are you really disappointed with the decision made by Microsoft about “Media Center not coming in Windows 8“. Do let us know about your views in the comments.
